
Dr. Nikolaus Weber is a sports medicine physician and rehabilitation specialist based in Munich, Germany. He completed his medical training at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) and holds board certification in both sports medicine and physical and rehabilitative medicine.
Dr. Weber's clinical work focuses on the application of photobiomodulation for musculoskeletal conditions, including osteoarthritis, tendinopathy, and post-surgical rehabilitation. He has worked with professional athletes in the Bundesliga and German Olympic training programs, integrating near-infrared light therapy into recovery and performance protocols.
His research interests include optimal NIR dosimetry for deep tissue applications and the anti-inflammatory mechanisms of photobiomodulation in joint disease. He has published in Lasers in Medical Science and Photomedicine and Laser Surgery, and is a member of the German Society of Sports Medicine and Prevention (DGSP) and the World Association for Photobiomodulation Therapy (WALT).
