
Dr. Lena Holmström is a board-certified dermatologist specializing in phototherapy, laser dermatology, and evidence-based skincare. She completed her medical degree and dermatology residency at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden, where she also conducted postdoctoral research on LED photobiomodulation for inflammatory skin conditions.
With over 15 years of clinical experience, Dr. Holmström has treated thousands of patients using light-based therapies for acne, rosacea, psoriasis, and photoaging. She has published peer-reviewed research on optimal dosimetry for at-home LED devices and has presented at the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) annual congress.
Dr. Holmström is a member of the Swedish Society of Dermatology and Venereology (SSDV) and the European Society for Dermatological Research (ESDR). At The Light Therapy Institute, she focuses on translating clinical research into practical guidance for consumers navigating the growing market of light therapy devices.
